Marvel’s Iron Fist will unfortunately not be returning for a third season after being cancelled by Netflix.

The streaming giants and Marvel announced the news in a statement via Deadline:

“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners.

“We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

The ending of their statement suggests that we haven’t seen the end of Iron Fist. It might be the case that he makes a cameo or crosses over to another one of Marvel’s growing TV franchise. Finn Jones, who starred in the series, posted a picture of himself in costume and wrote:

“With every end is a new beginning. I have an enormous amount of love and respect for everyone involved with the last two seasons of this show.

“Defending the greatest city in the world amongst the most talented and warmest people has been a privilege and a joy. Blessed to have taken this journey and grateful for the ongoing support.”

You can still watch season one and two of Iron First on Netflix now.
