Marvel’s “Luke Cage” Has Been Cancelled by Netflix

Luke Cage has joined Iron Fist on the list of MCU shows axed by Netflix.

When it was announced that Iron First had been cancelled after only two seasons, no one seemed to mind much given that it is one of the most poorly rated shows in the Marvel franchise. The more recent news that Luke Cage is being given the boot too, however, is far more disappointing.

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” Netflix and Marvel Television told Variety in a statement. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

The news means that Daredevil and Jessica Jones are the last surviving shows from The Defenders group and, to be honest, we really hope it stays that way.

You can still watch seasons 1 and 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage on Netflix now.
