Filming for Marvel’s upcoming brand new The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV show has been canceled, postponing its release date.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an Avengers spin-off produced for the Disney+ platform. The series will follow the new Captain America Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, and Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier.
Unfortunately, filming for the series has been canceled due to a natural disaster. The crew was due to begin filming in Puerto Rico, but the island has been hit by two earthquakes in the past week. As a result, the cast and crew that were scheduled to arrive this week have been sent home.
There has been no news yet whether Marvel will choose a new filming location or postpone shooting indefinitely. Either way, it is unlikely that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will meet its 2020 premiere.
More news on the show’s status to be announced when Marvel and Disney+ give an update.
