No new original drama series premiered on Max since the start of 2024, but that’s about to change pretty soon! Political drama The Girls on the Bus is coming our way next month, and the streamer dropped an intriguing new trailer for this promising series ahead of its release.

The Girls on the Bus is based on Amy Chozick’s memoir Chasing Hilary and it “invites viewers to hit the campaign trail alongside four female journalists, each of them different in their reporting styles and personalities,” according to Max’s official synopsis.

Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) will play Sadie McCarthy, a naïve journalist who still romanticizes a bygone era of campaign reporting. She manages to overcome her differences with Grace (Carla Gugino, The Fall of the House of Usher), Lola (Natasha Behnam, Mayans M.C.), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore, Insecure) on the campaign trail, after getting the front-row seat to the battle for the White House.

The supporting cast of this project will also include Scott Foley (Scandal), Brandon Scott (Dead to Me), Griffin Dunne (This is Us), Mark Consuelos (Riverdale), and Tala Ashe (Legends of Tomorrow).

Amy Chozick co-created this series for Max alongside Julie Plec, while Rina Mimoun serves as the showrunner. The first two episodes will premiere on March 14, while the remaining eight will air weekly until May 9.
