Season 5 of the beloved sci-fi series Stranger Things has been a long time coming, but according to its star Maya Hawke—it will be worth the wait. She recently discussed the show’s highly-anticipated final season and revealed it feels like eight movies because episodes are very long.

Hawke got her big break when she joined Stranger Things as Robin Buckley during its third season. Her character was initially introduced as Steve Harrington’s co-worker at the ice cream shop Scoops Ahoy, but she went on to become a key member of the show’s core cast.

Robin will be one of the characters returning in Season 5, which will feel like eight movies according to Hawke because episodes are very long.

“[The Duffer Brothers] have an amazing team of writers, but they’re very involved. They write a lot and they are very intense and serious about the quality of the continued writing, and it takes a long time to write each season, and it takes a long time to shoot them,” she said during a recent appearance on Podcrushed.

In addition to Hawke, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and Joe Keery are some of the cast members returning for Season 5, set to premiere sometime in 2025.
