Beacon 23 is one of the most thrilling shows returning to our small screens this spring, and we finally know what to expect from its next chapter. MGM+ dropped a new trailer for the second season of the sci-fi physiological thriller starring Lena Headey and Stephan James.

Beacon 23 centers on a government agent Aster (Headey) and a stoic ex-military man Halan (James), who find themselves trapped together inside one of many lighthouses in the darkest reaches of space, known as Beacons.

Things will get even more tense in Season 2, and here’s what we can expect from it, according to MGM’s official logline:

“Beacon 23 is now little more than a prison with Aleph onboard, and The Artifact provides more questions than answers. Without a clear path forward, the inhabitants of Beacon 23 must rely on each other, but their conflicting agendas may get in the way.”

Glen Mazzara, who serves as the showrunner alongside Joy Blake, described the show’s second season as a “thrill ride” in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter and promised it will up the game with more action, more mysteries, more twists, and exciting new characters.

Beacon 23 will return to MGM+ on April 7 with eight brand-new episodes.
