Michelle Pfeiffer has been making a pivot to television in recent years, and she just landed another juicy TV role. The three-time Oscar-nominated actress will join Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman in David E. Kelley’s Apple TV+ series Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
Based on Rufi Thorpe’s novel of the same name, this series will star Elle Fanning in the role of Margo Millet, the daughter of a Hooters waitress and an ex-pro wrestler. She’s an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, who comes up with an unexpected way to make ends meet and support her kid.
Pfeiffer joined the series in the role of Fanning’s mother, and this project will be somewhat of a family affair for the Hollywood veteran. It will mark her first collaboration with David E. Kelley – her husband of over 30 years – who serves as the show’s writer, showrunner, and one of the executive producers alongside Pfeiffer, Fanning, and Kidman.
The role in Margo’s Got Money Troubles marks Pfeiffer’s latest attempt to make a shift to television. We’ve most recently seen her play Betty Ford in Showtime’s short-lived historical series The First Lady, and she’ll next appear in The Madison, the latest spin-off in the Yellowstone franchise.
