Paramount+ made a shocking decision to cancel the iCarly revival series after Season 3 ended with a major cliffhanger, but we might get the happy ending to this story after all. Miranda Cosgrove recently dropped hints that Carly and the rest of the gang could return in a wrap-up movie.
The Paramount+ series iCarly was the revival of Nickelodeon’s hit sitcom of the same name, and it reunited us with Carly, her brother Spencer, and her neighbor Freddie nine years later. The new series saw her moving back to Seattle and deciding to relaunch her web show with the help of Spencer, Freddie, and the new friends she made along the way.
Season 3 wrapped up with Spencer and Carly running into their long-absent mother, halting Carly and Freddie’s wedding plans, but the viewers never got to see her face. This unresolved cliffhanger caused a lot of commotion online and fans have been asking for answers ever since – and it seems they might just get them.
Miranda Cosgrove discussed the future of iCarly while doing promo for Despicable Me 4, and told Variety “I’m pretty sure it’s gonna happen. So I’m excited, and I’d love to get to wrap up the story.”
