Mr. & Mrs. Smith is one of the most promising new shows to premiere this month, and Amazon Prime Video users can’t get enough of it. The action-comedy series led by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine debuted among Amazon’s top five new series ever.
Inspired by Doug Liman’s hit film of the same name, Mr. & Mrs. Smith centers on two lonely strangers who land a job working for a mysterious spy agency. They must navigate a high-risk mission every week while also facing new relationship milestones after being forced into an arranged marriage.
Despite initial skepticism, both viewers and critics embraced this series with open arms. Following its debut on February 2, Mr. & Mrs. Smith became the No. 1 series on Prime Video in over 130 countries and grew into one of Amazon’s Top 5 new series debuts by total viewers in the U.S.
In addition to Glover and Erskine in lead roles, Mr. & Mrs. Smith boosts a star-studded guest cast, including Alexander Skarsgård, Eiza González, Sarah Paulson, Sharon Horgan, Ron Perlman, Billy Campbell, Úrsula Corberó, Paul Dano, Michaela Coel, John Turturro, Parker Posey, and Wagner Moura.
In addition to playing one of the lead roles, Glover co-created the series alongside Francesca Sloane and serves as one of its executive producers.
