Ncuti Gatwa will soon return for his second season as the Time Lord, and he’ll be in pretty good company. The first teaser trailer for the second season of Doctor Who is here, and it introduces Varada Sethu as Gatwa’s new companion Belinda Chandra.
Doctor Who embarks on many epic adventures in a new teaser – and he doesn’t have to do it all alone. Varada Sethu joins him as Belinda Chandra, but she doesn’t seem to be too thrilled about the idea of traveling through time and space, telling the Doctor “You need to get me home!”
“The Doctor meets Belinda Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling TARDIS team must face great dangers, bigger enemies, and wider terrors than ever before,” reads the show’s official logline.
The new teaser also confirms the return of Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, dispelling the rumors that she wouldn’t be returning for another season. It premiered on December 25 after this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special “Joy to the World”, which stars the Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan.
Doctor Who will return to BBC and Disney+ next year and its release date is yet to be announced.
