Just a few weeks after premiering on Netflix, Kaos reigns no more. The Greek mythology series led by Jeff Goldblum has shockingly been canceled by the streaming giant after a single season.

Created for Netflix by Charlie Covell, Kaos puts a modern twist on the tale of Zeus and other Greek gods ruling from Mount Olympus. While Zeus is coping with the fear that his reign might be nearing its end, Prometheus is plotting a plan to overthrow him with the help of three mortals who set off on a journey to fulfill their prophecies.

In addition to Goldblum as Zeus, the cast of this series also included Janet McTeer as Hera, Aurora Perrineau as Eurydice, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, David Thewlis as Hades, Rakie Ayola as Persephone, Nabhaan Rizwan as Dionysus, Stephen Dillane as Prometheus, and Billie Piper as Cassandra, among others.

The show’s breakout star Perrineau addressed the show’s cancelation on social media and praised everyone who brought it to life.

“Everyone was brilliant and uniquely themselves. Every performance surprised and excited me. I can’t believe I got to do this with all of you. We made something weird, dark, hilarious, deranged, and absolutely tragic – something entirely human,” wrote Perrineau.

Kaos premiered on Netflix on August 29, with all eight episodes, to generally favorable reviews.
