Netflix brought the hit sitcom That ’70s Show back to life with the sequel series That ’90s Show, but the second chapter of this story hasn’t been too long. Kurtwood Smith confirmed this series was canceled by Netflix after two seasons, while also revealing they’re planning to shop it elsewhere.
That ’90s Show shifted focus to Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciotti, during a summer she spends with her grandparents in Point Place. Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp returned as Red and Kitty, along with several original cast members in the guest roles, while Callie Haverda led the show’s young cast.
The second season of That ‘90s Show wrapped on Netflix back in August, and it will mark its final chapter. Kurtwood Smith took to social media to express gratitude to everyone who made it happen following Netflix’s cancelation but added this might not be the end after all.
“I’ve said it before but it’s worth mentioning again…this show had so much heart behind it and the most wonderful cast, writers, directors, producers, and crew an actor could hope to work with. We will shop the show because good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school,” wrote Smith on social media.
