Dead Boy Detectives is one of the most promising new shows coming to Netflix this month, and the streamer is busy teasing its release. The new trailer welcomes us back to Neil Gaiman’s quirky world, and it sees the titular ghost detectives solving mysteries by each other’s side.

Dead Boy Detectives centers on Edwin and Charles, two BFFs who also happen to be ghosts, using their special skills to solve mysteries on the mortal plane for their supernatural clients.

“They will do anything to stick together – including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal and her friend Niko, they are able to crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases,” reads Netflix’s official logline.

George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri lead the cast as Edwin and Charles, and they’ll be joined by Kassius Nelson, Yuyu Kitamura, Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Jenn Lyon, and Lukas Gage in supporting roles.

Dead Boy Detectives is set in the same universe as Netflix’s The Sandman, and it draws inspiration from the comic books by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. Steve Yockey developed the series for Netflix and serves as its co-showrunner and one of the executive producers alongside Beth Schwartz.

Dead Boy Detectives will feature eight episodes, set to arrive on Netflix on April 25.
