Emily in Paris returned for its fourth season on Netflix this summer, and her next adventure is just around the corner. Season 5 of this hit comedy series is officially on the way, and it will see Emily Cooper living her best life between Paris and Rome.

Lily Collins announced the renewal of Emily in Paris just a few days after Season 4 wrapped up. She appeared in a promo video that sees her enjoying some espresso while sitting on a scenic balcony in the Italian capital, and telling the camera “There’s no place like Rome,” before revealing the number 5 on the bottom of her coffee cup.

Season 5 will see Emily moving to Rome, after being appointed to run the Italian branch of Agence Grateau. Emily in Paris creator Darren Star revealed that this shift was born out of his desire to “stay ahead of the audience and take them to unexpected places.”

Star also revealed that Emily is going to “have a presence in Rome” in Season 5, but “it doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris.” He also added that the next chapter of this story will keep exploring her relationship with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) because he feels “like they have a real spark and a real connection.”
