Netflix has given us one of its sweetest cooking competition shows with Is It Cake? and another season will soon come out of the oven. The streaming giant renewed the hit Mikey Day-hosted series for another season, set to premiere this spring.
Is It Cake? premiered on Netflix in 2022, in the midst of a viral craze involving hyper-realistic cakes and other baked goods, made to look just like everyday objects. The streaming giant took this idea and ran with it, inviting a group of bakers to make their own hyper-realistic desserts and compete for impressive cash prizes along the way.
Netflix confirmed the show’s renewal in an official statement and promised that the third season will once again push the boundaries of culinary craftsmanship.
“Mikey Day will once again oversee the fondant-fueled madness, as contestants attempt to fool a new lineup of guest judges with hyperrealistic cakes resembling everyday objects. And with the ultimate cash prize on the line, prepare for bigger cakes, higher stakes, and even wilder bakes,” reads Netflix’s press release.
Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on March 29, and it will have eight brand-new episodes, featuring a new batch of bakers competing for the $50,000 prize.
