Netflix Shares First Look at New Season of “The Witcher”

Henry Cavill in "The Witcher"

The second season of The Witcher resumed production back in August, and we finally know what it has in store. Netflix shared the first look at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, and it shows him wearing epic new armor.

Season 2 of this fantasy series is currently in production, and it’s expected to premiere on Netflix next year. The streaming giant also shared an official logline for the new chapter of this epic story, and here’s what we can expect from it.

“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

The highly-anticipated second season isn’t the only project in The Witcher universe coming to Netflix very soon. They’re currently developing several exciting projects inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series, including the live-action series The Witcher: Blood Origin. An animated spin-off film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is also on the way, and it will focus on Geralt’s mentor Vesemir.
