Bridgerton is one of Netflix’s biggest hits, and its third season is looming on the horizon. The streaming giant gave us a taste of things to come during a recent Tudum event, where they’ve unveiled the first look at Bridgerton’s next power couple: Penelope and Colin.
Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) didn’t part ways on good terms at the end of Season 2. She overheard him mocking her while chatting with his friends, but Coughlan believes that this low moment will lead to something good in the long run.
“Penelope needs to realize Colin is a fallible human being. He’s not a god; he’s not an Adonis. If they’re ever going to have any type of relationship, it’s not healthy for her to see him in that way. She’s got to see him, flaws and all, and she currently doesn’t,” she explained.
Season 3 will see Penelope finally letting go of her childhood crush and trying to find herself a husband after it becomes clear that Colin doesn’t like her back. He decides to aid her in this search, eager to win back her friendship, but his attempts to help her boost her confidence end up working a little too well.
Jonathan Bailey, Ruth Gemmell, Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, and Simone Ashley are also expected to return in Season 3, which still doesn’t have an official release date.
