Netflix’s longest-running original series Grace and Frankie will come to an end with season 7.

The comedy-drama, which first aired in May 2015, has been going strong for five seasons. Now, Netflix has announced that the show will reach its conclusion at the end of season 7. This has been predicted for January 2021, based on the fact season 6 is due to land at the start of next year.

The show stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as jealous wives who come together when their husbands fall in love with one another. Discussing the ending of the show, the co-stars told Deadline:

“We are both delighted and heartbroken that Grace and Frankie will be back for its seventh, though final, season. We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation. And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well.”

They continued: “We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around. We’ve outlasted so many things – just hope we don’t outlast the planet.”

Season 6 of Grace and Frankie will land on Netflix January 2020.
