After leading Netflix’s top ten list for several weeks, Griselda is coming for Nielsen’s weekly streaming chart! The hit mini-series led by Sofía Vergara hit no. 1 on Nielsen’s weekly streaming list during its debut week with 1.6 billion minutes watched.
Griselda stars Sofía Vergara (Modern Family) as the notorious Colombian crime boss Griselda Blanco. This series chronicles her rise and fall in 1980s Miami and serves as a cautionary tale about the destructive pursuit of power and wealth.
Griselda made quite a splash after premiering on Netflix on January 25 and debuted at No. 1 in 89 countries following its release. It debuted atop the Netflix Weekly Top 10 TV chart just three days after its debut, attracting 20.6 million viewers and 113.8 million hours viewed.
Nielsen’s numbers for the week of January 22-28 are finally in, and they confirm Griselda was a huge hit during its debut week. It was watched for 1.6 billion minutes during its first four days of availability on Netflix, topping Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings.
The animated series Bluey fell to the No. 2 spot with 1.3 billion minutes watched, ahead of Grey’s Anatomy with 999 million, Young Sheldon with 984 million, and This Is Us with 776 million minutes.
