Neve Campbell Says Planned “Party of Five” Reboot Will Be Wonderful

Party of Five (1994)

Neve Campbell who starred in the original series thinks that the planned reboot is “really wonderful.”

News of the reboot first broke in January. The pilot is being written by the series’ original creators.

The original series ran on Fox from 1994-2000 and followed the five Salinger siblings after their parents are killed in a drunk-driving accident. The reboot, however, is coming back with an immigration twist. It will focus on an entirely new family and very different issues as it tells the story of five children in the Buendias family and their lives after their parents are deported back to their native Mexico.

“They’re going to make it a Mexican family of kids whose parents are taken across the border from them. Campbell told ET during a special fan screening of her new film, Skyscraper, in Hong Kong on Saturday. “You know, in the same way that our family lost their parents and had to find a way to survive. It’s going to look at that story which a lot of people are dealing with so I think it’s really prevalent.”

If the reboot goes to series, it’s unclear whether any of the original cast members, Campbell, Scott Wolf, Matthew Fox and Lacey Chabert, will appear.
