The future of Big Little Lies has been in limbo for five years, but it seems that the next chapter is coming our way fast. Nicole Kidman, the star and executive producer of this hit series, said that Season 3 is officially happening and it’s moving ahead “fast and furious”.
After years of speculations about the potential third chapter of the star-studded HBO drama, Kidman shared some exciting news in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. She shared a brief update with the magazine, saying, “We’re moving fast and furious. Liane [Moriarty] is delivering the book. We’re in good shape.”
Kidman led the A-list cast of Big Little Lies alongside Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz. They played five women from an affluent California beach town, who find themselves embroiled in a murder investigation. Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling, Meryl Streep, Kathryn Newton, and Iain Armitage also starred in supporting roles.
Season 2 of Big Little Lies ended its run back in 2019, and HBO has always been very open about bringing it back. CEO Casey Bloys recently told Variety that they’re excited about renewing the show for another season, but added it eventually comes down to getting the schedules of all the cast members in line.
