Ryan Murphy is one of the busiest creative masterminds in Hollywood, and he just added another project to his packed slate. Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville will lead the cast of his new horror drama series Grotesquerie.

Murphy previously developed American Horror Story for FX, and they’re ready to share another horror series with the world. Grotesquerie has been teased with a cryptic promo video on Murphy’s Instagram, and plot details are still being kept under wraps.

The video opens with Nash-Betts’ character saying, “I don’t know when it started, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s different now. There’s been a shift, like something’s opening up in the world – a kind of hole that descends into a nothingness.”

As the video progresses, the voiceover drops some more clues about the show’s potential plot, mentioning that “they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene”, hinting this series could possibly deal with a grotesque murder mystery.

Murphy didn’t share any more details about this project, but we know it will star Emmy winners Niecy Nash-Betts and Courtney B. Vance, plus the Oscar nominee Lesley Manville. Nash-Betts previously starred in Murphy’s Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Vance appeared in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, while Manville is the only newcomer to his world.
