Apple TV+’s sci-fi drama series Murderbot is rounding out its cast, and its leading man Alexander Skarsgård will be in a pretty good company. The Tony-nominated actress Noma Dumezwani is the latest star to join Skarsgård in this intriguing sci-fi series.

Based on Martha Wells’ award-winning book series The Murderbot Diaries, Murderbot follows a self-hacking security android, forced to hide its free will while completing a dangerous mission, even though it’d much rather be left alone to figure out its place in the universe.

Murderbot will be written and directed by Chris and Paul Weitz (About a Boy). They’re also executive producing this project via their Depth of Field banner, along with their partner Andrew Miano, plus David S. Goyer and Keith Levine for Phantom Four.

Dumezwani will play the character named Mensah in this promising series, which will also star Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies) and David Dastmalchian (MacGyver).

Dumezweni most recently appeared in The Little Mermaid and Only Murders in the Building, and her track record on TV is pretty impressive. After playing one of the main roles in Black Earth Rising, she went on to appear in such acclaimed series as The Undoing, Made for Love, and The Watcher.
