Olivia Colman has the power to make every project she stars in better, and she did just that for Heartstopper. The Netflix coming-of-age series is coming back for Season 3 later this year, but the Oscar winner revealed she had to miss it due to scheduling conflicts.

Colman played Nick Nelson’s mother Sarah in the first two seasons of the show and quickly became a fan favorite despite having a minor role. Heartstopper fans were hoping that her calming presence would be a part of the show’s third season, but she’ll have to sit this one out.

The Oscar-winning star recently told Forbes that she feels awful about not doing Season 3 because she couldn’t fit it into her schedule. She didn’t make this decision lightly, adding she feels that Heartstopper was one of the most beautiful things she’s ever been part of.

Heartstopper creator Alice Oseman addressed Colman’s departure on Instagram, and assured fans they’ve got nothing to worry about despite her absence.

“Nick’s story from the comics is still there, still infinitely important to me, and Sarah’s role as emotional support for Nick will shift to other characters in the story for now. If we get a season four, I would love for Olivia to be a part of it again!” wrote Oseman.

Season 3 of Heartstopper will return this October, and Netflix is yet to set its official release date.
