Orange Is the New Black is one of the most binge-worthy shows on Netflix, and everyone and their mother will be tuning in when it finally returns. Judging by the new trailer that just dropped, the new season will take us on another emotional roller coaster.
Inmates at the Litchfield Penitentiary spent Season 5 rioting against terrible conditions and unfair treatment they suffer daily. Fans hoped things will finally turn for the better, but their demands were never met. Everyone involved in the riot will have to face consequences, and a change of scenery is part of their punishment. The prisoners are headed to maximum security prison, where they have to be tougher than ever to survive.
The trailer made it clear friendships will be tested and new allegiances will be formed in this new environment. Some of the ladies will have a hard time fitting in because the max isn’t their home. Others won’t go down without a fight, because they’ve got nothing to lose anyway.
We’ll have to wait until July 27 to see how they settled in, but it already seems like another crazy ride. So if you haven’t made any plans for the hot summer nights, Orange Is the New Black got you covered. Sunny beaches and ocean views probably aren’t on the agenda, but Red and the girls are here to make a splash.
