Pachinko is returning for its second season later this year, and Apple TV+ just gave us some crucial info about the show’s next chapter. The streaming giant just dropped a new teaser to announce the return of this sweeping saga, based on Min Jin Lee’s bestselling novel.

Apple TV’s official logline describes Pachinko as a sweeping and deeply moving story of hope, anguish, courage, and forbidden love that chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive.

Pachinko draws inspiration from The New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee, and it was adapted for Apple TV+ by Soo Hugh. She wrote episodes of Season 2, along with Christina Yoon, Melissa Park, Ethan Kuperberg, David Mitchell, and Karen Chee, among others.

Lee Minho, Minha Kim, Anna Sawai, Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha, Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han, and Sungkyu Kim will lead the show’s second season, set to debut on August 23.

Pachinko premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022, and it won several accolades, including a Peabody Award, an American Film Institute Award, a Critics Choice Award, and a Gotham Independent Film Award since its launch.
