Paramount+ Plotting “Criminal Minds” Revival

Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Adam Rodriguez, and Daniel Henney in "Criminal Minds"

Criminal Minds ended its 15-year-long run last year, but it seems we won’t have to wait too long for its return. The streaming service Paramount+ is already developing a revival for this beloved police procedural crime drama series.

This project is still in the early stages of development, and a creative team is currently being assembled, according to Deadline. This outlet also reported that a number of original cast members are expected to return, but it’s unclear in which capacity.

Created by Jeff Davis, Criminal Minds centered on an elite team of profilers working for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit as they solve heinous crimes and deal with their personal struggles. The ensemble cast of this project included Mandy Patinkin, Matthew Gray Gubler, Shemar Moore, Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, Thomas Gibson, and many more.

Since its premiere in 2015, Criminal Minds became a huge hit for CBS, and it spawned two spin-offs Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Its revival is expected to premiere on Paramount+, a streaming service previously known by the name CBS All Access.
