It’s been quite some time since Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness premiered on Paramount+, and we finally know what its future holds. After months of uncertainty, the spy thriller series led by Zoe Saldaña has finally been renewed for its second season.
Also known as Special Ops: Lioness, this series centers on a woman in charge of CIA’s Lioness program, as she tries to balance her personal and professional life while leading the team of female soldiers playing their part in ending the war on terror.
Saldaña leads the star-studded cast of this series, which also includes Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman, and Nicole Kidman.
The first season of Lioness ended its run last September, and the fans of this series had to wait for quite some time for Paramount+ to confirm its renewal.
“Our Paramount+ audience resoundingly has joined forces in support of Lioness’ gripping, global story… We cannot wait to see more of the heart-stopping suspense and action that Taylor Sheridan and the incredibly talented team deliver in its second season,” said Jeff Grossman, executive vice president of programming at Paramount+, in a statement.
Lioness became quite a hit for Paramount+ following its release and scored the streamer’s most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day with six million total viewers.
