The CW is adding another series to its Fall 2020 lineup.

The network has acquired the French-Italian co-production Devils, an international thriller that’s based on the best-selling novel by Italian trader Guido Maria Brera.

The ten-part series follows Massimo Ruggero (Alessandro Borghi), the Head of Trading at NYL, one of the world’s most important investment banks and his mentor NYL CEO Dominic Morgan (Patrick Dempsey). After Dominic chooses another colleague over Massimo following a bitter promotion battle, Massimo becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation. To clear his name Massimo gets involved in an international financial war and has to choose between supporting Dominic or going against him.

The book is partially based on the financial crises that swept global markets in 2008.

Laia Costa, Kasia Smutniak, Lars Mikkelsen, Malachi Kirby, Paul Chowdhry, Pia Mechler, Harry Michell, and Sallie Harmsen will also star in the series.
