Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell to Star in “The Shrink Next Door”

Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell are reportedly reuniting to star in a new TV adaptation of The Shrink Next Door.

According to Variety, the Anchorman co-stars will be appearing in the MRC Television adaptation of the podcast The Shrink Next Door. The series is inspired by true events and is categorized as a dark comedy.

Rudd will be taking on the role of the psychiatrist, Dr. Isaac Herscjkopf, while Ferrell will be taking on the role of his longtime patient, Marty. As their relationship progresses, Rudd’s character begins taking over Marty’s life, even moving into his family home.

Georgia Pritchett and Michael Showalter are among the names attached to the show to write and direct. Should the series go ahead, the likes of Jared Sandberg, Katie Boyce, and Francesca Levy are set to executive produce.

Rudd recently starred in the dark comedy Living With Yourself on Netflix. The show received critical acclaim and finished on an intriguing cliffhanger. Rudd and Ferrell last co-starred together in Anchorman 2. This will be their first joint project since.
