This year’s SAG Awards were pretty memorable for Pedro Pascal, and his hilarious acceptance speech wasn’t the only part of the ceremony to generate some buzz. He also dropped hints about the second season of The Last of Us and said it’s amazing to be back in action.
Pascal won the SAG Award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for his work on The Last of Us, and he was visibly stunned after his name was called out. He told the reporters backstage that he was “genuinely surprised” by the win, and took a moment to discuss what’s to come in Season 2 of The Last of Us.
The second season of the hit HBO series is currently filming in Vancouver, Canada, and Pascal said it feels strangely brand-new to stop into Joel’s boots again.
“It’s sort of awe-inspiring the kind of focus and dedication that everyone has going into Season 2… It’s incredible to be back home with them and creatively and everybody, our entire crew, they’re working harder than I could even imagine,” said Pascal, according to Deadline.
Bella Ramsey will return alongside Pascal in Season 2, and they’ll be joined by several newcomers to the cast, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Isabela Merced as Dina.
