The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was one wild ride, and our favorite demigod is gearing up for another epic adventure! Only a week after Season 1 finale, Disney+ officially announced they’re renewing the hit fantasy series for another season.

Based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows the adventures of the titular 12-year-old demigod. He’s still coming to terms with his newfound powers when the almighty Zeus accesses him of stealing his thunderbolt. Percy is forced to embark on an epic journey with his BFFs Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood to restore order to Olympus.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, officially announced the renewal of this series, which “captivated the imaginations of viewers of all ages everywhere.” She added they’re thrilled to embark on an exciting new quest in Season 2 alongside Rick Riordan and the exceptional ensemble of cast and creative talent that brought this story to life.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri are expected to return as the leading trio in the show’s next chapter. Riordan also addressed its renewal and asked fans to “rise anchors [and] hoist the mainsail” because we’ll be heading for the Sea of Monsters in Season 2.
