Fleabag‘s Pheobe Waller-Bridge has signed a new TV deal with Amazon Prime.

Following the Primetime TV Emmy Awards this weekend, Phoebe Waller-Bridge went home with the award for best actress, best writer, and best comedy. In spite of the prestigious recognition, she has since confirmed that regardless of the positive reception, Fleabag will not be returning for a third season.

Shortly after her chat in the press room, however, Walder-Bridge was approached by Amazon Studios with a new TV deal. She has since signed the deal which commits her to a three-year contract.

“I’m insanely excited to be continuing my relationship with Amazon,” Waller-Bridge said in a statement. “Working with the team on Fleabag was the creative partnership dreams are made of. It really feels like home. I can’t wait to get going!”

Amazon Studios Chief Jennifer Salke added: “As evident in her great success at the Emmy Awards this week, [Waller-Bridge] is clever, brilliant, generous and a virtuoso on multiple fronts including writing, acting and producing. Fleabag has been a gift to our Prime Video customers and we are excited for what comes next from this brilliant mind to dazzle and delight our global audience.”

No details on what the new show will entail have yet been released.
