After previously starring in HBO’s The Idol, Rachel Sennott is gearing up for another collaboration with this network—this time behind the camera. Bottoms star and co-writer is working on a pilot for a half-hour comedy series for HBO.

HBO previously found success with Lena Dunham’s Girls and Issa Rae’s Insecure, two female-centric shows about twentysomethings navigating life and relationships, and they’ll embrace the same formula with Sennott’s upcoming project. This series will see a codependent friend group coming back together and figuring out how the time spent apart affected them.

Sennott is writing the pilot for HBO, and she’s also executive producing this project alongside Barry alums Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers.

Sennott’s rise to prominence started with the lead role in Shiva Baby, the feature-length adaptation of Emma Seligman’s short film she starred in during their time at NYU. They joined forces again on last year’s comedy Bottoms – they co-wrote this project, Seligman directed it, while Sennott played the lead role alongside Ayo Edebiri.

On the TV side, Sennott’s credits include roles in ABC’s short-lived sitcom Call Your Mother and HBO’s polarizing drama The Idol, co-starring Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd.
