
After making a switch to television with her acclaimed performance in Dead Ringers, Rachel Weisz is ready for her next big, juicy TV role. The Oscar-winning actress will star in Netflix’s limited series Vladimir, based on Julia May Jonas’ novel of the same name.
Jones is writing the script and serving as a co-creator of this limited series, and here’s what we can expect from it, according to Netflix’s official logline:
“As a woman’s life unravels, she becomes obsessed with her captivating new colleague. Full of sexy secrets, dark humor, and complex characters, Vladimir is about what happens when a woman goes hell-bent to turn her fantasies into reality.”
Showrunner Kate Robin is joining Jones as a writer and creator, and they’re both coming on board as executive producers. Weisz will also be creadited as an EP, alongside Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg and Kira Carstensen of Merman, plus Jason Winer and Jon Radler of Small Dog Picture Company, while 20th Television serves as the studio.
Weisz is fresh off starring in Amazon Prime Video’s psychological thriller Dead Ringers, which was met with critical acclaim and earned her a Golden Globe nomination for the best actress in a miniseries. She’ll next be seen in Marvel’s superhero blockbuster Thunderbolts*, reprising the role of Melina Vostokoff from Black Widow.
