The hit young adult novel We Were Liars is finally getting its long-awaited TV adaptation, and its cast is getting more amazing by the day. Rahul Kohli is the latest actor to join this project, taking over from Arsher Ali, who departed the series after creative changes.

Based on E. Lockhart’s novel of the same name, We Were Liars has been described as a love story and an amnesia thriller, which centers on the wealthy, seemingly perfect Sinclair family, who spend every summer on their private island off the coast of Massachusetts.

Kohli’s character Ed is the long-term partner of Mamie Gummer’s Carrie, described as an art gallery owner who’s magnetic, wryly funny, and patient to a fault. He spent nearly a decade trying to impress Carrie’s father, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to hold his tongue in the face of his not-so-subtle condescension.

In addition to Kohli and Gummer, the ensemble cast of this series will also include Caitlin FitzGerald, Candice King, David Morse, Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, and Joseph Zada.

Rahul Kohli is best known as the star of Mike Flanagan’s series The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher, in addition to starring in iZombie and Death and Other Details.
