Ryan Murphy has given us several hit shows throughout 2024, and he’s showing no signs of stopping. He’s plotting a star-studded crime thriller The Beauty for FX, and Rebecca Hall is the latest major star to join this promising project.
The Beauty is set in a world where modern society is obsessed with outward beauty, and it begs the question, “What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day?”
“In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price,” reads the show’s official logline.
The Beauty is based on the Image Comics series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, and Murphy serves as its co-creator along with Matthew Hodgson. The cast will include Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope, who’ll all be credited as executive producers alongside Murphy and Hodgson.
Rebecca Hall is the latest major star to join this project in a mystery role. She’s a BAFTA TV Award-winning actress, whose notable TV credits include Parade’s End, Tales from the Loop, and The Listeners. On the movie side, she starred in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Prestige, The Town, Iron Man 3, and the Godzilla franchise, in addition to directing the critically acclaimed period drama Passing.
