HBO Max struggled to find an audience after its launch last year, but it’s finally starting to find its footing. Revivals and reunion specials in particular are putting this streaming service on the map, and here are a few that got everyone talking.

Friends: The Reunion

Friends: The Reunion was just a one-off special, but that didn’t stop it from creating a lot of buzz for HBO Max. The original cast and an impressive slate of guest stars came back for this reunion special that celebrated the legacy of the beloved 90s sitcom and gave us major nostalgia overload.

Sex and the City

Speaking of nostalgic shows that will take you back to the 90s and early 2000s, Sex and the City is also set to come back. The 10-episode reboot And Just Like That… will show Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis returning to their original roles, as their characters navigate their lives and friendship in their 50s.

Gossip Girl

Unlike the previous two projects, HBO Max’s Gossip Girl won’t reunite us with the old cast. It will center on a new set of Gen-Z characters, played by a group of relative newcomers, and it will take us back to the twisted world of Gossip Girl in the social media age.
