The beloved fantasy book series The Spiderwick Chronicles is getting its TV adaptation, set to premiere later this spring. The Roku Channel teased this promising adaptation with the first teaser trailer, which gives us a glimpse of the Grace family’s amazing adventures.

This series opens with Helen Grace leaving New York in a re-review mirror and trying to start a new life in Michigan. She moves to her ancestral home, Spiderwick Estate, with her children: 15-year-old fraternal twins Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory, but they quickly learn there’s more to this house than meets the eye.

After stumbling upon a boggart, Jared realizes that magical creatures are real and inspires his siblings to uncover mysteries hidden within the walls of Spiderwick Estate and the fantastical world around them.

The ensemble cast of this TV series includes Joy Bryant, Noah Cottrell, Lyon Daniels, Mychala Lee, and Jack Dylan Grazer, while Christian Slater plays the main villain Mulgarath.

The Spiderwick Chronicles is based on Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black’s book series of the same name, which has previously been adapted into the 2008 film starring Freddie Highmore. Its TV adaptation was initially developed as a Disney+ original before moving to Roku, where it will premiere on April 19 with all eight episodes.
