Netflix is plotting a corporate thriller set in the cutthroat world of Silicon Valley, and they found a perfect person to lead it. Rosamund Pike has been cast in the key role in Thumblite, and she’s coming on board as one of the show’s executive producers.
Thumblite hails from writer Scott Z. Burns, and it “examines the schemes, rivalries, visions, and obsessions of the power brokers and their underlings as they vie for control of the most powerful industry the world has ever known”, according to Netflix’s official logline.
In addition to serving as creator and showrunner of this series, Burns is coming on board as one of the executive producers alongside Pike, Scott Galloway, Michael Ellenberg, Greg Jacobs, and Lindsey Springer. He’s best known as the producer of the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
Netflix was a part of the heated bidding war for this series, but some of its biggest rivals, including Apple TV+ and Prime Video reportedly weren’t vigorously pursuing it since they operate in a similar industry that this project tackles.
Rosamund Pike currently stars in the epic fantasy series The Wheel of Time, while her recent film credits include the black comedy I Care a Lot and the psychological thriller Saltburn.
