Leslye Headland, the co-creator of Russian Doll, inked a multi-year overall deal with Fox 21 Television Studios to create, develop, and direct for the platform.
Russian Doll was co-created by Headland, Natasha Lyonne, and Amy Poehler and it was a huge success for Netflix winning two Emmy Awards and being nominated for 13.
In addition to Russian Doll, Headland wrote the About Last Night, which starred Kevin Hart and Sleeping With Other People, which starred Alison Brie and Jason Sudeikis.
Headland is super excited about the new opportunity, she said, “I am thrilled to be working with Bert, Jane, Dana and Craig, and the Fox 21 team. They championed me and helped me land my first job as a staff writer about ten years ago. I was an unpublished playwright and they fought to get me a seat at the table. It has been an ambition of mine to return to the fold and develop my personal and passion projects with them. I am so excited to get started and grateful for this incredible opportunity!”
