The Screen Actor Guild Awards are the latest ceremony to honor the amazing TV performances of the past year, and they’ve picked some pretty amazing winners. Squid Game topped the trophy tally with three awards, while Succession and Ted Lasso took awards for best acting ensemble in their respective categories.
Squid Game received four nominations at this year’s SAG Awards and ended up losing in just one category. It walked away with awards for best actor and actress in a drama (Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-Yeon), and best stunt ensemble.
The Korean drama ended up losing to Succession in one of the night’s main categories—an outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. The list of nominees in this category also included The Handmaid’s Tale, Yellowstone, and The Morning Show.
Ted Lasso dominated the comedy field, winning four awards, including the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. Its star Jason Sudeikis picked up the trophy for his lead performance in this series, while Jean Smart was named the best comedy series actress for Hacks. When it comes to limited series, Michael Keaton (Dopesick) and Kate Winslet (Mare of Easttown) collected awards for their critically acclaimed performances.
