Amazon Prime Video ordered a limited series from the team behind Netflix’s hit Fool Me Once, and its cast will be pretty amazing. Sam Claflin, Bill Nighy, and Alexandra Roach will star in this promising project, being developed under the working title Lazarus.

Written by Harlan Coben and Danny Brocklehurst, this series will center on a man who finds himself entangled in a series of cold-case murders, after returning back home in the wake of his father’s suicide.

Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & The Six) would lead the series in the role of Laz, a well-respected forensic psychologist, who’s forced to finally face the ghosts of his past after running away from them for years.

Bill Nighy (Living) will portray his father, Doctor Lazarus, who was a beloved figure within his community before his death. As for Alexandra Roach (Killing Eve), she’ll join the series as Jenna Lazarus, who’s buried herself in a world of spiritual practice after her sister Sutton was murdered 25 years ago.

Coben described Lazarus as “a story of loss, redemption — and the eternal bond between a parent and a child, even after death.” Brocklehurst said it would fall under the physiological thriller genre, while also adding he and Coben tried to bring their trademark wit and warmth to this project and give it “an emotional spine.”
