Sara Gilbert’s departure from The Talk is making more sense…

The co-host, who was one of the show’s original creators and presenters over the past 9 years, announced earlier this month that she would be stepping down from her hosting duties.

“I obviously love it [at The Talk] and like I said, [the decision to leave] extremely difficult,” she told her fellow presenters. “Last season, I did The Conners, as you know, and was also producing, and here, and I loved it and felt totally empowered, but also if I’m being honest about it, I think my life was slightly out of balance, and I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, and time for myself.”

In addition to her lead role on The Connors (which was originally the revival of Roseanne), Sara will now be starring in Atypical.

The Netflix series follows an 18-year-old boy on the autism spectrum as he searches for love and independence.

Sara is set to take on the recurring role of Professor Judd, an irritable yet compassionate Ethics university professor, during the show’s upcoming third season.

Well, she is used to educating a large audience.
