Fans lost it when it was announced that SATC is coming to Netflix, and we finally know when it will hit this streaming platform. All six seasons of the hit HBO drama will become available on Netflix on April 1.
SATC originally ran on HBO between 1998 and 2004 and starred Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall as four women trying to navigate the complicated reality of their life and friendship in their 30s while living in New York City.
SATC became a global phenomenon and its popularity didn’t fade away in the years to come. Its success inspired two feature films and a spin-off show And Just Like That…, which remains a Max exclusive, while Netflix’s new deal only covers the original series.
Warner Bros. Discovery previously struck a licensing deal to make several hit HBO shows available to Netflix subscribers, including Insecure, Ballers, and Six Feet Under. S-x and the City will also be available on this streaming platform, starting on April 1.
Netflix boss Ted Sarandos previously encouraged studios to license more titles and help them find a new audience on Netflix. He singled out Suits as one of their latest success stories, after it generated billions of viewing hours on this streaming service, leading NBC to greenlight the offshoot pilot Suits: L.A.
