“Scream” Switches to VH1

“Scream: The TV Series” 2015.

Remember when they made a series based on the Scream movies?

It was quite a while ago, so you are forgiven if you don’t.

The anthology series explores a series of murders in the fictional town of Lakewood and first debuted in 2015, with the second season showing in 2016.

While a third season was ordered shortly after, the footage never actually materialised. It was then decided to reboot the entire show and start afresh with a brand new cast.

And, finally, it looks as though that’s happening.

Mary J. Blige, Tyga, Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, Giorgia Whigham, CJ Wallace, Jessica Sula, and Giullian Yao Gioiello will form part of the cast, with original executive producer, Wes Craven, returning to the role, and Queen Latifah coming onboard as producer.

The series has also been moved from MTV to fellow music channel VH1.

Season 3 will revolve around football player Deion Elliot (Cyler) whose past comes back to haunt him and threatens his future plans and the lives of those around him.

Scream for joy — Scream returns on VH1 July 8th.
