Bill Lawrence has come a long way since Scrubs ended its run, but he wouldn’t mind revisiting this world. Scrubs creator said he’s open to working on more episodes of the medical sitcom, while also adding he’s not interested in rebooting it as a movie.

Lawrence found success with such shows as Ted Lasso and Shrinking in recent years, and he’s currently gearing up for the release of his next Apple TV+ comedy Bad Monkey. Despite working on countless hit projects since Scrubs ended its run, this medical drama still holds a special place in his heart.

Lawrence discussed a potential reboot in an interview with LADbible and said he wants to figure out what to do with it in the next six months.

“I don’t want to do it as a movie, but I’m definitely open to doing a couple more years of that show. It would not only be fun to see where the characters I used to love are now, but also to see what a young doctor nowadays looks like, as far as the kids coming in behind them,” said Lawrence.

Scrubs was led by Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, and Judy Reyes, and it centered on the team of low-ranking medical interns working at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital.
