Power is one of Starz’s most enduring franchises, but one of its most popular spin-offs will soon come to an end. The third season of Power Book IV: Force is currently filming in Chicago, and it will mark the final chapter of this story.
Power Book IV: Force premiered in 2022 as the latest spin-off in the Power Universe, and it chronicled Tommy Egan’s (Joseph Sikora) journey after he decided to cut ties with his past and put New York in his rearview mirror for good.
Showrunner and executive producer Gary Lennon said it’s both bittersweet and fulfilling to write the final chapter of Tommy’s story after the fans have grown to love this character over the past decade.
“Season 3 will question everything we thought we knew of Tommy’s world and I promise you it will not disappoint! Although this may be the end of the road for Force, there is much more expansive, compelling storytelling for the characters within the Power Universe,” said Lennon in a statement.
The cancelation of this series aligns with Starz’s plan to cut costs by developing new projects instead of sustaining old series that have become more expensive. They recently announced a new spin-off Power: Origins and Gary Lennon will reportedly develop another instalment after Power Book IV: Force comes to a close.
