“Serendipity” is Being Made into a Series

John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale in "Serendipity"

Everyone could use a little help from the universe now and again.

18 years ago, John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale were the ones the universe had its eye on as the pair met one fateful night only to be separated for years to come with only a book and $5 note to tie them together in Serendipity.

Now, NBC has decided to remake the 2001 movie info an hour-long television series, with Jonathan and Sara set to be replaced by Harry and Claire.

“I’ve been madly in love with this movie for more than half my life,” said writer and executive producer Jonny Umansky. “Never has the world needed a show like Serendipity more, and the love stories we have in store are big, bold and filled to the brim with whimsy and wonder.”

Sounds like reason to celebrate over frozen hot chocolate.
