The second season of Severance has been a long time coming, and its release date is finally on the horizon. Apple TV+ dropped an ominous new trailer for the second season of the hit sci-fi psychological thriller, which reveals an early 2025 release date.

Severance stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, who works for the sinister company Lumon Industries, whose employees must undergo a procedure to have their memories divided between their work and personal life. This experiment in “work-life balance” falls apart when he finds himself at the center of a mystery that forces him to question the true nature of his job.

According to Apple TV+’s official logline, Season 2 will see Mark and his friends “learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.”

In addition to Scott in the lead role, Season 2 will also mark the return of Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. Alia Shawkat, Gwendoline Christie, and Merritt Wever are among the cast members joining them next season.

In addition to taking us behind the doors of Lumon Industries, the new teaser reveals that Season 2 will return to Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025.
